Creative friends stop by Zinnia!!

Hey folks we had exciting visitors at the store on Friday. Artgirlz Allison Stillwell and partner Midge are on holiday from Florida, they stopped by Zinnia with friend Lisa Engelbretch. A crazy creative energy was buzzing through the store. Tyn was there to teach a class and was able to join Tam and I. Allison had her IPad and shared great pictures of what she has been up to. Midge recently took up sticking and she shared her what she's been up to. Lisa shared a beautiful fabric journal and we got to ooooh and aaaaw at her calligraphy and artwork.

It sure was nice to have these beautiful creative women at the store. It was a nice way to start my weekend. The next picture is a shot of Allison's jacket. Got to love it.

While this creative-fest was in progress I still needed my coffee fix so I took a minute and walked down to Buster's. I found this on my way... it's a pole cozy. I heard that it's called gorilla art. What ever it's called ... it was perfect... its knitted right onto the pole.

Also, Friday Tyn will be teaching the Soldering Workshop. Come learn the basics of working with soldering or come to get a refresher and have Tyn answer questions or help problem solve any issues you have while crafting with a soldering tool. Tyn will walk you through the process at this workshop. Definitely a fun and inspiring class. With the holidays just six months away you might want to consider a beautiful soldered something for your special someone. 11:30 to 2:30pm $55.

Love Story Journal this weekend

Teaching my Love Story Journal this Saturday, June 18th from 11-3 p.m.

Your journal should be all about YOU. It should tell YOUR story. In this workshop, you will create a uniquely sewn journal upon whose pages your story will be told in color, text and imagery. Learn a multitude of collage layering techniques, journal prompts, pen work and more. You will love this journal that is completely and totally all about you and your life.

Supply list: Scissors, small selection of favorite collage ephemera, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of waxed paper, roll of paper towels, permanent black inkpad, container to hold water, 1" brush to glue (I like chip or bristle brushes), a few of your favorite glue sticks
