Hey there Zinnia bloggers, please note that the 'Wood Block Puzzle' class scheduled for Friday, 12/8 has been cancelled due to no interest. That's okay, I'll go to my corner with my glue and foam brush.

Memory Box Class

Saturday, Dec. 1st - 1pm to 3:30pm.

Memory Boxes make nice gifts or a special treasure for you. Come relax and create your own treasure. I will have my collection of papers and images. Do you want to personalize your box with trinkets or photos? On the day of the class you can use a 15%percent discount for items for the craft and any merchandise at the store. To include photos I suggest you go to Kinko's for copies, which cost under a dollar. You can bring images printed at home if your printer uses DURAbrite inks. Copies made at Zinnia cost $2.00 a sheet however I can't guarantee that the printer will have ink, so please bring your images ready to use.

I will be at Zinnia on Saturday 12/1, 1pm to 3:30pm teaching a "Memory Box" class. Do I need to say it? A memory box will make a wonderful gift for the holidays or a special treasure for yourself.

The Discovery Tour was great fun!!!!!

Tyn and I had such a great time being in the Arroyo Arts Collective- Discovery Tour . Once the fog lifted the day was wonderful; we opted to set up outdoors rather then be in our hosts house.Don't get me wrong Dayna R.(our host) has an absolutely wonderful home, but being outside made us more visible which we needed, seeing as how there was quite a  flow of people thru out the day . Tyn and I met a lot of fascinating people as well as visiting with family and friends.

  I look forward  to doing this tour again.

Sock Creatures

A customer brought this picture into Zinnia on Saturday, it is her children on Halloween. At first glance I actually thought they were real "sock creatures", then looking closely you can see those sweet faces hiding between the eyes and mouth. This was brilliant! what a great costume! What an inspiration for next year....

Had a totally fun group of women on Sunday for a class. We were laughing the whole time. Thanks Renee, Laura, Kat, and kim!! Here are some pictures of stuff they were working on. This class was on collage techniques- how to create different looks for background and foregrounds and different textures.

Christmas!!!

I was kind of not looking forward to the whole "holiday" thing... it can be a lot of work ya know. Don't say it- I know it is totally against the crafters code to not want to decorate for Christmas.
Anyway, I stopped into Zinnia today, and Tamara and Suki were putting up all the new Christmas things. It is looking so great- I made a squeeking noise like a dolphin- really - just as Tamara! There are lots of pretties and shinny bobbles- oh do go and see!! I don't think you will be dissapointed.

Discovery tour

Hey!
Joe and Tyn are both going to be part of the 15th annual Discovery tour put on by the Arroyo arts Collective. You can buy a map and then travel around and see artist work and work space as well as other artist that come to set up for the day. It should be lots of fun.

I went by Zinnia on Sat. to take a break and peek at what wonderful things were being made in Kelly Kilmer's class. Sadly the class was canceled due to illness, but I did get to see some pretties. My pictures are not the greatest, but these are some of the new things in the store...Piles of felt and wool and bundles of fabric always make me happy. If you stop in, ask Tamara to show you her acorn pin cushion. My picture didn't come out at all, and it is super cute. You will be wanting to make one too.

Don't you ever wonder what your favorite Zinnia staff members do in their free time? This last weekend, Tamara, Paul, Joe, Suki and I as well as a few other crafty folks got together, and did this!!! If you want to see more go here.

That Joe...I am saying that all the time. I say it when I see whatever new thing he is creating. He blows me away constantly. But I like to think he is just keeping me on my toes!!
Anyway, Joe has a terrific class coming up on Tuesday Aug. 21st- Assemblage from 12:00 - 3:00


Also, coming up is a class with Tammie Moore called Flying Portraits . It is scheduled for Friday Aug. 24th from 11:00-2:00. I have not yet had the pleasure of taking one of Tammie's classes, but I keep hearing great things about them. I have been checking into her great blog, and wondering when this lady sleeps! I say stop in and check it out!!

OOPS!! I just found out that Flying Portraits is with Tamara!! Sorry Tam!
